CHASE HARRIS OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a first-year outfielder from Carrollton, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week of the Week for games played from Monday, April 20 through Sunday, April 26. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 12

Harris was a terror at the plate in Hendrix's series win over Austin College, slashing .667/.692/.833 in the three games. He went 8-for-12 across the weekend, scoring six runs and swiping four bags while also drawing a walk. Two of his eight hits were doubles, and he recorded three-hit games in the final two games of the series to lift the Warriors into the SCAC Tournament.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior catcher Kaden Stegent of Austin College had a strong weekend to close out the year, getting at least one hit in each of the team's three games at Hendrix and finishing with a .364 batting average as well as a .500 on-base percentage. Stegent scored three runs and drove in three more, and had his best game of the weekend with a 2-for-5 performance in the team's 8-6 win over the Warriors. Sophomore outfielder Blaine Birkelbach of Centenary had a big weekend at the plate for the Diamond Gents as he went 4-11 (.364) with a .429 OBP and slugged .909. He scored five runs and walked twice and belted a pair of home runs which included his first-career grand slam. Birkelbach helped lead the Maroon and White to a series sweep at home over Ozarks and a berth into the SCAC Tournament. Sophomore shortstop Cody Brady of LeTourneau batted .545 (6-for-11) with seven runs, one home run, four RBI, three steals, and a 1.676 OPS in a sweep of Schreiner on the road. He had two hits in each of the three games in the series. Brady went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, four runs, and a steal in game one. He then went 2-for-4 with an RBI, run scored, and a steal in game two before going 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored, and a steal in game three. First year infielder Dru Ohmstede of McMurry led the War Hawks to a non-conference split in a doubleheader against Lyon. Ohmstede hit .750 (6-for-8) with four runs scored, three RBI and drew one walk to post a .778 on-base percentage and finished with a .750 slugging percentage. Senior utility Adam Peavy of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a series win over Dallas, posting a .400 batting average, going 4-for-10 with a home run and a double. Peavy finished with four runs scores and four RBI, along with drawing a walk to post a .455 on-base percentage and a .800 slugging percentage.
