DANIEL RODRIGUEZ OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week of the Week for games played from Tuesday, February 10 through Sunday, February 15. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 2

Rodriguez totaled seven RBI over the weekend against Centenary including a monster performance in game three with six RBI and hitting .750. Rodriguez was 3-for-4 (.750) in game three with six RBI and five runs scored thanks to a pair of home runs in his first two at bats. Rodriguez hit a grand slam in the second inning, one of two grand slams for the Mountaineers in the game. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Desmond Squalls of Austin College helped the 'Roos take two of three to begin conference play. Squalls went 1-for-3 against No. 25 ETBU, and then had two hits in each of the team's three games against LeTourneau. He finished the week batting .438 with a .500 on-base percentage, .625 slugging percentage, three doubles, three runs scored, and a pair of stolen bases. Sophomore Noah Paulson of Centenary continued the strong start to his season over the weekend at Schreiner in the Diamond Gents' conference-opening series as he hit .364 (4-11) with two RBI, a double, two sacrifice flies, and a run scored. Senior Landon Hyle of Concordia (Tex.) had a .583 on-base percentage, going 5-of-10 at the plate with six runs scored and four RBI in a series sweep over the University of Dallas. In the season/series opener, he went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored. In game two, he scored another two runs to go along with two RBI. In the series finale, the senior recorded a two-RBI double and added two more runs scored. Junior Walker Alsobrooks of Dallas hit .333 on the week with three hits and a stolen base in a conference series against Concordia (Tex.). Junior Jonah McDaniel of LeTourneau batted .385 (5-for-13) with four doubles, five RBIs, and two runs scored in a three-game series at Austin. In a doubleheader split on Sunday, McDaniel was 5-for-10 with four doubles, five RBIs, and two runs scored. He went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs in a game three win after going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs in a game two loss. Senior Tatum Black of McMurry posted a .444 batting average over the weekend against Texas Lutheran with four hits, four RBI and three walks. Black posted a .444 slugging percentage and had a two-RBI single in game three's 15-6 win. Junior Connor Reed of Ozarks (Ark.) drove in six runs to push the Eagles to a 3-0 record during the week. Reed recorded three RBI in game one against Hardin-Simmons and then followed with another three-RBI game against the Cowboys in game two. Reed finished the week hitting .300 with two walks and two runs and owning a 1.000 fielding percentage from this outfield position. Junior Jace Christian of St. Thomas (Tex.) turned in an impressive performance in conference play, batting .556 (5-for-9) across three games to help St. Thomas post a 2-1 record in league action. Christian scored three runs, drove in a pair, and recorded a triple while finishing the week with a .583 on-base percentage and a .778 slugging percentage. Junior Cole Cravens of Texas Lutheran hit .455 over the weekend driving in eight runs with a .727 slugging percentage and just one strikeouts. Cravens entered the season with 11 RBI in his career and came close to doubling that number across three games with three or more RBI in each contest.
