LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior guard/forward Erin Riley of Austin College has been named SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding effort this past weekend as the 'Roos pulled a huge upset over Trinity.
SCAC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

ERIN RILEY OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior guard/forward from Battle Creek, Mich., has been selected as the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 9th.
Riley led Austin College to a 2-1 weekend including an upset of the top team in the conference, Trinity University.
Riley averaged 15.6 points/game and 6.0 rebounds/game to lead the team in both games, hitting 67% from the field and a blistering 75% from behind the arch.
Riley the week off with 17 points on Tuesday night against Centenary on 6-of-10 shooting and 4-of-6 shooting from three to go with nine boards.
Against Southwestern, Riley led the team with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, hitting 4-of-6 from three, and pulling down six boards. Riley followed that up with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting incluidng a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arch in the win over Trinity.
It is the first time the 'Roos have swept Trinity women's basketball since the 2009-10 season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Courtney Tyus of Colorado College averaged 14 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.0 steals during two games last week. With six assists during Friday's 63-55 loss to Schreiner, the junior guard became the fourth player in school history to record 100 or more in a single season. Senior post Christy Allen of Dallas averaged 12.0 points/game and 12.0 rebounds including a pair of double-double against Schreiner. Sophomore guard Kelsie Jackson of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 week with 21.5 pts/game, 7.5 reb/game, six assists and four steals for the week including a 24 point, eight rebound, and five assist efford against Dallas Senior guard/forward Chelsea Leeder of Southwestern averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, leading the Pirates to two victories. Junior guard Karisa Cantu of Texas Lutheran averaged 15 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals over two conference games, both wins for TLU on the road. Sophomore forward Anecia Richardson of Trinity averaged 14.5 points/game, 5.0 rebounds/game, and 4.5 blocks/game for the two games, hitting 10-23 (42.3%) from the field and 9-12 (75%) from the foul line. Centenary did not nominate anyone.
