MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- After leading her team to two SCAC raod wins, Trinity University forward Anecia Richardson has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for her performance from January 20th - 26th.
Richardson, a sophomore forward from Mesquite, Texas who also earned her third SCAC Player-of-the-Week award this week, averaged 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game for the weekend, shooting 75% (15-20) from the field and 85.7% (12-14) from the free throw line.
She scored 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe to lead the Tigers to Friday's 85-69 win over Dallas. She also pulled down eight rebounds to go with four blocks in the game. On Saturday against Colorado, Richardson scored 16 points in just 23 minutes of action, hitting 7-of-10 attempts from the field, swatting four blocks, and pulling down five rebounds as the Tigers cruised to the 76-59 victory.
For the season, Richardson leads Trinity with 16.6 points per game and is second on the team with 5.3 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with 65.6% (120-183) shooting, and has shot 67.8% (59-87) from the foul line. Richardson has also made 35 blocks to pace the team in that category as well.
