Trinity Ranked 22nd in WBCA USA Today, 24th in D3hoops.com Polls

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Trinity University women's basketball team moved into the Top 25 of the USA Today Women's Basketball Rankings for the first time this season as the Tigers check in at No. 22. Trinity also moved up one slot to 24th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 ranking.

The Tigers improved to 6-1 with three wins last week, including victories over Division II schools Angelo State (73-60) and Southern Arkansas (82-73).

Trinity concluded the week with a victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor (91-75) in the final game of its own Thanksgiving Classic. Hannah Coley (pictured right) and Murphy Burns each registered personal season-highs in the game. Coley scored 23 points, on 8-13 shooting from the field, 3-7 in three-point range, and 4-4 at the free throw line. In addition, Coley shelled out a team season-best nine assists, while recording three steals. Burns, who added 22 points, shot 7-12 from the field, 3-7 beyond the arc, grabbed six rebounds, and tied a Tiger season benchmark of six steals.

The Trinity women open defense of their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title by hosting Southwestern on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to tip at 8:00 p.m., following the men's contest.
