MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Following a 2-1 week, the Trinity University women's basketball team continues to be ranked in both the WBCA/USA Today Sports Top 25 Coaches Poll and the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll. The Tigers are 24th in the WBCA/USA Today poll and 25th in the D3hoops.com poll.
The Tigers (8-2 overall) picked up a big SCAC win on Wednesday over Southwestern University (81-55) in the conference opener for both teams. In non-conference play later in the week, Trinity defeated UC-Santa Cruz on Friday (65-54) before falling the following day to No. 2 Washington (Mo.) University 67-59 in the finals of the Bears' McWilliams Classic.
Junior guard Hannah Coley had 23 points and seven assists in the championship game of the McWilliams Classic and senior forward Libby Kruse had eight rebounds after corralling 20 on Friday night. Both were selected to the all-tournament team.
The Trinity women are off for nearly three weeks before returning to the hardwood to host Illinois Wesleyan and George Fox at its own Trinity University Christmas Classic - December 29 and 30.
