ZACHARY VICKERS OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a first-year from Southlake, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, April 13 through Tuesday, April 14. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 7)
Vickers was the top SCAC finisher at the West Region Invitational and led the Crusaders to tie for fourth-place finish after securing a top-five individual finish, finishing tied for fifth with a three-round total of 220 (+4). He fired rounds of 73 (+1), 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) and was outstanding on the par 5 holes, finishing tied for second in the field with a 4.42 scoring average on the long holes. In total, his 11 birdies were tied for the sixth most in the field of 39 athletes.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Aubrey Snell of Centenary jumped two spots over the final round to finished in the top 15, tied for 13th with a three-round total of 226 (+10). Snell finished tied for eighth in the field with 32 pars during the tournament. Senior Oliver Naumann of Hendrix won medalist honors at the Timergate Preview fueled behind and opening round 69 (-3) and an even par 72 in the second round for a two-day total of 141 (-3). Naumann beat out 66 other competitors to lead the Warriors a tie for second place as a team. He finished the tournament with eight birdies.
