LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- In a light week of action, a matchup of the league's top two teams highlighted conference play.

The Trinity men remained undefeated in NCAA III and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday with a 7-2 decision over perviously-unbeaten Southwestern at the Newman Tennis Center.

After Southwestern's Hunter Bajoit and Vesko Lekovic opened the match with an 8-4 win over Trinity's Cameron Krimbill and Alessio Azzalini in No. 2 doubles, the Pirates' Drew Shuvalov and Carlos Esteban Rodero followed with an 8-6 victory over Christian Settles and Hao Nguyen in the No. 1 spot. Trinity's Wilson Hamilton and fellow senior Jordan Pitts scavenged an 8-7 (7-3) victory as the line-three duo to prevent the doubles sweep in favor of Southwestern.

From there, the Tigers notched a sweep in singles action - allowing just two sets total for the Pirates (13-1 overall, 5-1 SCAC) - to pull away with the 7-2 victory. Hamilton took the clinching point from line-four singles with a pair of 6-3 straight sets.

The following day, Trinity (10-7 overall, 3-0 SCAC) fell to Division I Southern Methodist, 7-0.

In other men's action, Schreiner and Texas Lutheran both dropped non-conference matches to Western New Mexico (5-1 and 8-1, respectively), Austin College lost to Texas Wesleyan, 9-0, and Colorado College fell to Colorado Mesa, 5-2.
