LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Five SCAC men's teams were in action this past week, highlighted by a lone conference match between Trinity and Texas Lutheran.

The Trinity men (4-6; 1-0 SCAC) collected a 9-0 win in its first match in nearly three weeks at Texas Lutheran on Friday afternoon. The Tigers improved to 3-0 against NCAA III opponents this season by allowing the Bulldogs (0-6, 0-4 SCAC) a grand total of five games scattered across the singles scorecard while posting 8-0 marks in all three doubles matchups. Sophomore Alessio Azzalini tallied the clinching match point from No. 1 Singles with a 6-0, 6-1 mark. The following day in non-conference action, Trinity lost 4-0 in a rematch at NCAA Division I Rice University. With the loss, Trinity and Rice split a home-and-home series this spring as the Tigers won 4-3 in San Antonio to start their 2021 season.

Southwestern (5-1; 3-0 SCAC) picked up a 6-3 victory over NCAA Division I Prairie View on Tuesday. After taking 2 of the 3 doubles matches, Steven Tibbetts continued the momentum with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles, and Alexander Joseph earned a victory at No. 3 singles. Hunter Bajoit picked up the clincher in No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
