LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Five of the league's nine men's track and field teams got one final competition prior to this weekend's conference championship meet.
Dallas and Schreiner competed at the McMurry War Hawk Classic. Schreiner picked up scoring performances from Xavier Enriquez, who finished sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.13 meters and Joshua Hollis-Roberts, who was sixth in the hammer with a throw of 33.21 meters. Hollis-Roberts and Enriquez, along with teammates Matthew Wilding and Patrick Ordeneaux, finished in fourth in the 4x100 relay.
Dallas picked up its lone points of the meet when Logan Byrum placed seventh in the javelin withi a toss of 32.40 meters.
Centenary competed at the Belhaven Invitational and the Gents' Paden Sisterhen posted the team's best finish, placing sixth in the 5,000 meters with a finish of 16:49.33.
Texas Lutheran and Trinity competed on Friday and Saturday at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Cactus Cup. Among the standout performers for the Bulldogs, Caimen McDonough was the top NCAA Division III competitor in the men's long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 4.75 inches (6.52 meters). He finished fifth overall. McDonough also recorded a tie for fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-10.75 (1.80 meters) and a third-place showing in the triple jump with a leap of 43-8 (13.31 meters). Scottie Reyes placed third in the discus with a toss of 156-4 (47.65 meters). Johari Dramiga won the men's 1,500 in a time of 5:03.52, and Dillan Wendel took second in the men's 800 with a time of 1:58.96.
For Trinity, Jacob Winchester won the men's javelin with his throw of 49.62 meters, while Robert Slaybaugh also won the men's shot put with a season-long throw of 13.50 meters. Tanner Lacy finished third in the men's event by reaching 4.46 meters – the second-best mark in his career. Daniel D'Rovencourt and Raini Huynh both tied for fourth with a season-best 4.01 meters in the pole vault. Jalen Leonce's time of 15.63 seconds in 110-meter hurdles was the fastest this season for the Trinity men's team.
