Trinity and Colorado College Keep Spots on NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer teams remain in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III Top 25 poll after the fourth week of play. The Trinity University Tigers (7-1-0, 3-0 SCAC) held onto the No. 4 spot, while the Colorado College Tigers (7-1-0, 3-0 SCAC) moved up three spots from No. 22 to No. 19. Complete Poll

Trinity still holds onto the No. 1 spot in the NSCAA West Regional Poll and Colorado College remains in the No. 3 spot. TU is the only team in the SCAC to be ranked by D3Soccer.com, moving up from the No. 7 spot to No. 5 this week. Complete Poll

Both teams continued conference play this weekend, each sweeping their opponents. Trinity took on Austin College and the University of Dallas, outscoring their opponents 11-1 between the two games. Johnny Lawson won the SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week award after recording three goals and two assists on the weekend.

Colorado College defeated Schreiner University and Texas Lutheran with identical scores of 2-1 in both games. CC’s Brandon Ogilvie earned the other SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week award after marking all four goals for Colorado College on the weekend.

The two teams will both be at home this weekend. Colorado College will host Austin College and Dallas, while Trinity will take on Schreiner and Texas Lutheran.

Colorado College and Trinity will face off for the first time this season October 5 in San Antonio, before switching the next weekend to battle in Colorado Springs on October 12.
