Lakeya McGill, Rhodes College, Women's Basketball

LAKEYA MCGILL OF RHODES COLLEGE, a sophomore guard from Lexington, Tenn., has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 8th thru Sunday, December 14th.

McGill led the Lynx to their sixth consecutive win, and a 2-0 week. In the Lynx 62-55 non-conference win over Hendrix on December 8th in Conway, AR, McGill led all Lynx scorers wth 21 points, scoring 18 in the first half. McGill connected on 8 of 14 shots and knocked down both of her three points attempts.

Against Rust College in the Lynx 95-57 win, McGill scored a season best 23 points, and also pulled down 7 rebounds, had 7 assists and recorded 3 steals.

For the week McGill averaged 22.0 ppg, shot 51.6% from the field (16 of 31), hit 3 of 4 from behind the three point line (75%), averaged 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The 6-1 Lynx return to action on December 20th at the University of Dallas.
