KRISTA PRATO MATTHEWS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY a
senior forward from Davis, Calif., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 1st thru
Sunday, December 7th.
Prato Matthews led the team to two SCAC wins last
weekend, defeating both Colorado College and Austin College on the
road.
Prato Matthews averaged 22.5 points and 13.0
rebounds per game over the weekend, and also knocked down 62.1%
(18-29) from the field. In addition, she hit 9-10 (90%) of her free
throws and averaged 38.5 minutes/game this weekend.
She scored 20 points and grabbed 12 boards to lead Trinity to
Friday’s win over Colorado College, then bettered her own
performance with 25 points and 14 rebounds in Sunday’s
victory at Austin College. Prato Matthews has had
a double-double in seven of the team’s eight games this
year.
For the season, Prato Matthews is averaging 18.5
points and 14.0 rebounds per game, and is shooting 52.9% (54-102)
from the field. She is also leading the team with 11 blocks and has
11 steals, and has connected on 40-52 (76.9%) of her free throws.
