MICAH WEAVER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from Poth, Texas has been selected as the SCAC Player-of-the-Week for games played through January 14, 2018.
Weaver led 16th-ranked Trinity to a pair of road wins in conference play, defeating both Texas Lutheran and Southwestern by double digits.
Weaver averaged just over 20 points per game and connected on better than 56% of her shots in the two wins, averaging less than 30 minutes per contest. Weaver started the weekend with 27 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and six steals in a stellar all-around performance to beat Texas Lutheran. She knocked down 12-18 from the field on her way to tying her season-best in points. She followed that with a team-best 14 points in just 24 minutes of action of a lopsided win over Southwestern.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Meghan Lewis of Austin College helped lead the 'Roos to extend their 10-game winning streak. Lewis matched a career-high 14 points after hitting four three's against Colorado College. Junior guard Casey Torbet of Colorado College recorded three assists and became the 22nd player in program history to record 150 or more assists during her career. Sophomore center Cecily Woolfork of Southwestern University averaged 12 points per game and shot over 41 percent against some tough conference opponents this weekend. Freshman forward Abby Hroch of Texas Lutheran University pulled down 19 boards in the Bulldogs' two games this past weekend. She had 10, a team-high, in the game against Trinity University.
