MCKENZEE GERTZ OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman forward from Fort Collins, Colo. has been selected as the SCAC Player-of-the-Week for her performance against the University of Dallas on December 16.
Gertz produced her fourth double-double of the season to lead the Colorado College women's basketball team to a 65-57 victory at the University of Dallas in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon. Gertz connected on six of 12 shots from the floor, including four of nine three-point attempts, while recording a season-high 18 points. The freshman winger also grabbed a season-best 16 rebounds and had three steals.
Gertz leads the SCAC in rebounding averaging 8.5 rebounds per game and is 10th in scoring at 12.1 points. She also ranks second with a .423 three-point field-goal percentage and is tied for third averaging 2.2 treys per game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Bryce Frank of Austin College averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in the 'Roo's two wins of the week. Junior guard Jasmine Morris of Centenary College scored season-highs in points and rebounds in the Ladies' win over Millsaps with 18 and 10, respectively. Morris also earend her first double-double of the season.
