MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Southwestern University sophomore forward Annie Bourne, this week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for week one after an outstanding week to open up the season.
Bourne had a sensational week as the sophomore led the Pirates
to a 2-0 start during the opening week of the 2012-13 season.
She averaged 14 points per game and an incredible 20 rebounds per
game to go along with 3.5 assists per game for the Pirates.
Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Bourne scored 18 points on 7 of 12
shooting (58.3 percent) to go along with 21 rebounds. She also
added four assists, two steals and one block in an 84-73 win.
For the Week, Bourne shot just under 52.6 percent (10 of 19) from the floor while totaling 40 rebounds.
She was the only SCAC student-athlete named to either the men's or women's Team of the Week.
