Southwestern's Bourne Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Southwestern University sophomore forward Annie Bourne, this week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for week one after an outstanding week to open up the season.

Bourne had a sensational week as the sophomore led the Pirates to a 2-0 start during the opening week of the 2012-13 season.

She averaged 14 points per game and an incredible 20 rebounds per game to go along with 3.5 assists per game for the Pirates.

Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Bourne scored 18 points on 7 of 12 shooting (58.3 percent) to go along with 21 rebounds. She also added four assists, two steals and one block in an 84-73 win.

Against Texas Lutheran, she tallied 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting to go along with 19 rebound. She also added three assists, three steals and two blocks in the 83-69 win.

For the Week, Bourne shot just under 52.6 percent (10 of 19) from the floor while totaling 40 rebounds.

She was the only SCAC student-athlete named to either the men's or women's Team of the Week.
