LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- After taking a week off, six of the league's women's golf teams were back on the course this week, with four of those competing at the SCAC Conference Preview at Vaalar Creek Golf Club.

The Trinity women held on for a narrow four-shot victory over Southwestern at the SCAC Conference Preview - the team's first victory of the spring. The Tigers shot a combined score of 648 over the two-day event as all eight of Trinity's players who completed the tournament finished in the top 15 individually. Kiona Hsiu was the top Tiger finisher in third place, carding back-to-back scores of 80 on Monday and Tuesday. She finished the tournament as the top golfer in par four scoring, as well as finishing third in the field with four birdies, and fourth among all participants with 18 pars among 36 holes.

In the race for medalist honors, Linsey Garza edged out teammate Madison Goldberg to win the SCAC Preview individual title, with the pair leading Southwestern women's golf to a second-place finish with a score of 652. Garza and Goldberg each carded a 79 in the first round to enter Tuesday's final round tied for second. Both improved on their performance by one stroke, overtaking first-day leader Caterina Mora Adrover of Trinity, who fell off her first-round pace by five strokes to finish in fourth, behind teammate Kiona Hsiu. Garza claimed medalist honors after parring the first playoff hole, the par four No. 18. She led the field with six birdies, while Goldberg was a model of consistency, making par 21 times.

The St. Thomas women finished in third place at the SCAC Preview, 30 shots behind second-place Trinity. Sophomore Courtney Krause led the Celts shooting 21 over par (82-83--165) which landed her a tie for eighth place. The Celts improved by 12 shots on Day TWo as the team became more familar with the course.

Texas Lutheran sent just two golfers to the SCAC Preview with Audre Garza leading the way for the Bulldogs with rounds of 93 and 95 for a two-day total of 188 - good for 18th place.

The Centenary women were also in action, hosting their annual Hal Sutton Invitational. The Ladies shot a 265-over par 841 for the tournament including a 132-over par 420 in Tuesday's final round, to place sixth.
