JANICE OKEKE
OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE, junior
forward from Jackson, Miss., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 3 through
Sunday, January 9.
Okeke posted double doubles in both games this week
including 10 points and 12 rebounds against Trinity in the Majors'
win and 23 and 18 against Southwestern on Sunday.
On the weekend Okeke shot 65.2% (15-23) from the
field and Friday's win was the first by the Millsaps women's over
the Texas Tigers since January 26, 2001 - snapping a streak of 18
consecutive losses to Trinity.
