SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity Director of Athletics Bob King has announced that former Tiger basketball player Cameron Hill has been hired as the school's head coach for women's basketball.

Hill is a 1999 Trinity graduate and will join the staff after coaching most recently at Ursuline Academy of Dallas, which is an independent Catholic college preparatory school for young women. In his first season with Ursuline, Hill led the team to the Texas Association of Private and Parochials Schools (TAPPS) 5A State Championship. He was in charge of the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman teams at Ursuline.

"We are excited and proud to have one of our own former student-athletes return to the athletics staff," said King. "There were a number of quality candidates for this position, making this a tough decision; but we feel like we have found an outstanding coach in Cameron Hill. His passion and dedication for both basketball and Trinity University will be an asset to the athletics department."

While at Trinity, Hill played with the Tiger men's program from 1996-99, earning All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors in two of his three seasons with the team. Hill also led the Tigers to the SCAC Championship in 1997-98, earning the team's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Trinity went 1-1 in the postseason, falling in the second round against Hampden-Sydney.

Following his career at Trinity, Hill played professionally for two years in Italy and Germany, before moving on to the coaching ranks. Hill was an assistant coach with Fordham University for three seasons, then served as the Director of Player Development at the University of Kentucky for three more seasons. In addition to his college coaching experience, Hill has also served as an assistant coach for the Seattle Supersonics Summer League team and the head coach for the United States Basketball Academy.

Last year, Trinity's women's team finished 9-17, falling in the first round of the SCAC Tournament. The Tigers were third in the SCAC West Division standings with a 7-9 conference mark.
