MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Centre College senior
guard Maggie Prewitt and Millsaps College junior forward Shante
Morton have been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for week
five of the 2011-12 season, the website announced.
Prewitt led Centre to three victories, including two conference
wins. She tied the school record for assists in a game (14) in win
over Mount St. Joseph, while also scoring 22 points. Her 33-point
outing against Oglethorpe including 10-for-10 shooting from the
foul line and 11-for-20 from the floor. She averaged 23.7 points,
9.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds for the week.
Morton completed her sixth, seventh, and eighth consecutive
double-double as she led the Majors to three wins. Morton averaged
15.0 points and 12.3 rebounds on the week, shooting 17-for-42 from
the floor and 6-for-13 from three-point range.
