THEO HOOKER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior goalkeeper from Albuquerque, N.M., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 29th.
Hooker stopped 15 of 16 shots while leading Colorado College to a 1-0-1 record on the road this weekend.
In the final SCAC game of the regular season, Hooker made six saves, his most in a conference game this year, in Friday's 2-1 victory at the University of Dallas.
During Sunday's 0-0 tie at No. 23 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Hooker made a season-high nine saves, including one on a penalty kick late in the second overtime. He dove to his left to make a two-handed stop and the CC defense quickly cleared the rebound out of harm's way.
Hooker, who stopped both penalty kicks he faced this season, recorded his ninth clean sheet of the year and the 35th of his career.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Levin Dyson of Austin College led the 'Roos to a shutout over the weekend, defeating Centenary 7-0. Senior goalkeeper Ryan Benner of Southwestern University tallied 12 saves for the week, while leading the Pirates to a dramatic win to close out conference play. Senior defender Daylon Gordon of Trinity University led the Tigers to a pair of wins last week, including a shutout of UC-Santa Cruz.
