THEO HOOKER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior goalkeeper from Albuquerque, N.M. has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches beginning September 5th.
Hooker did not allow a goal in 200 minutes of action while helping Colorado College post a 1-0-1 record.
In Friday’s 0-0 tie with Dallas, a game that was called after the first overtime due to darkness, he stopped the only two shots the Crusaders put on frame. He followed that with a shutout performance against Chapman University, where the Tigers posted a 4-0 win.
The clean sheets were the 27th and 28th of his career.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defender Chase Gaskill of Austin College had a tremendous week for Austin College as the 'Roos surrendered just three goals in three games, including manning the center back position in a 2-0 shutout victory over Centenary to kick off SCAC play. Freshman goalkeeper Sean Carlin of the University of Dallas helped the team preserve a 0-0 tie at Colorado College in the conference opener Friday. He made four saves in a shortened contest due to darkness at the field. First-year midfielder Quentin Van Der Lee of Trinity University led the Tiger men's soccer team to a pair of victories on the road last weekend, including a 2-1 over UT-Dallas during which he earned his first career start.
