MATT CARDONE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore goal keeper from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 24 through Sunday, September 30.

Cardone led the Tiger men’s soccer team to a pair of road wins in SCAC play over the weekend, recording more than 150 minutes without allowing a goal.

Cardone recorded his fifth shutout of the season in Friday’s shutout win over Centenary, then went on to play just under 72 minutes of Sunday’s game against Austin without allowing a score.  

Cardone has not allowed a goal in nearly 500 minutes in net for the Tigers, and he recorded five saves over the weekend.
