Trinity Seventh in Latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 Men’s Soccer Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Trinity (Texas) University (18-2-1, 13-1) hangs onto the No. 7 spot in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA)/ Continental Tire Division III Top 25 rankings. Trinity jumps up four spots to the No. 8 position in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll for week eleven. The NSCAA West Region poll places Trinity at No. 1 for the third consecutive week. Southwestern University (14-7-1, 11-2-1) claims the No. 10 ranking in the same poll.

Trinity clinched its second consecutive SCAC Championship with a 1-0 win over tournament host Southwestern on Sunday afternoon.  The Tigers and Pirates had battled in a pair of 1-0 games during the regular season, with the road team winning each time.  The third game was no different as visiting Trinity scored early, then held on for the win down the stretch.  The Tigers also defeated Texas Lutheran in the SCAC Tournament Semifinals.

Trinity earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs after winning their 16th overall conference crown over the weekend, and will host three other teams on Saturday and Sunday.  The Tigers face Cal Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Hardin-Simmons and Puget Sound will play at 7:30 p.m. that night.  The winners of each game advance to Sunday's matchup at 5:00 p.m.
