MICHAEL CANTU
OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY has been selected
the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week
for the week ending January 13, 2013.
Cantu, a junior guard from Corpus Christi, Texas,
is not only a leader on the basketball court, but also serves in
various leadership roles on campus. He is the head resident
associate of the men's dorm, Ruter, leader of Fellowship of
Christian Athletes and heads up the Christian fraternity on
campus.
Cantu has also taken an active role in helping
the younger players adjust to college and the demands of being a
student-athlete. He is a warrior on the basketball court and posts
a 3.6 GPA in the classroom.
