KELLAN KLAUS
OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore from
Lake Charles, La., has been selected the SCAC Character &
Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending
October 7, 2012.
Klaus has started all nine games this season
for the men's soccer team, serving as team captain in just his
second season in a Gents uniform.
But as vital as he is to Centenary’s squad, his involvement
away from Centenary makes him an ideal candidate for this
accolade.
Klaus coaches Upward Soccer at Summer Grove
United Methodist Church and serves as the Youth Minister at Noel
United Methodist Church.
The sophomore also works at Sports Spectrum, “Where Sports
and Faith Connect,” and volunteers at multiple soccer
camps.
His head coach David Orr describes Klaus as,
“an awesome young man, a great leader and extremely
competitive.”
