JACKSON ROSS
OF AUSTIN COLLEGE has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the
week ending January 6, 2013.
Ross, a junior guard/forward from Tempe, Ariz.,
has been an active member of the Austin College community as a
three year letter winner on the Kangaroo basketball team as well as
various organizations on campus.
A member of the Prelaw Society, Ross has served
as a member of the Student Assembly at Austin College, and is the
founder and co-president of the Human Environmental Animal Team,
coordinating meetings and facilitating projects and serving as a
liaison between the club and both college administrators and
outside organizations.
Ross, who has also been active in community
service off campus, has worked at Zejac Ranch in Vancouver, Canada,
a camp that provides special needs children with unique
opportunities. In his time at Zejac Ranch, Ross
worked with campers from ages 7-17, working on activity planning,
and helping to develop team building skills.
