LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Trinity University's Emily Daum has been selected Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Coach-of-the-Year for both men's and women's cross country in exclusive voting by the head coaches in the conference.

The Texas Tigers swept both the men's and women's team titles on Saturday, October 28 on the campus of Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. It was the second men's title for Trinity in the last three years and the fourth overall. The championship on the women's side represents the first for the program since 2013 and third overall.

Trinity's 21 points in the women's race was the fifth-lowest score in conference history, while the men's score of 24 points was the sixth-best in SCAC history.

The Trinity women's cross country team have been ranked 10th in the nation for the second consecutive time by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Poll (Oct. 31).

The Tigers are also #1 in the NCAA South/Southeast Region for the second straight occasion. Trinity vaulted from the 31st national position in the October 18 poll, after a strong sixth-place performance at the Principia College Cowbell Invitational - also known as Pre-Nationals - in Elsah, Illinois. The men are ranked sixth in the most-recent South/Southeast regional rankings.

Next up for the Tiger women and men is a trip to Newport News, Virginia, for the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Championships on November 11. Qualifying Regional entrants will advance to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, to be held November 18 in Elsah, Illinois.

In her fourth year leading both programs, this is Daum's second time to be honored as SCAC Men's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year (2015). It is her first honor on the women's side.
