Trinity's Piske and Hill Sweep SCAC Runner of the Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Taylor Piske and senior Nicola Hill, both of Trinity University, have been named SCAC Runners of the Week for their performance this past weekend.

SCAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, October 12th

TAYLOR PISKE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Richardson, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, October 12th.

Piske ran one of his all-time best races at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational over the weekend, finishing in the top 10 among all Divisions of runners. Piske led the team to a fourth place finish at the meet, winding up in ninth place individually, and fourth among non-Division I runners. He finished the 8k event in 25:06.7

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Alex Medrano of Southwestern University ran a personal best time of 26:55 for an 8K at the University of Incarnate Word Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 18.  

 

SCAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, October 12th

NICOLA HILL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Houston, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Sunday, October 12th.

Hill led Trinity to a second-place team finish at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday morning. 

Hill
 finished 18th overall and sixth among non-Division I runners, despite rainy and muddy conditions. She clocked in at 24:07.3 for the race to pace the Tiger women's runners.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Brianna Timourian of Southwestern University, running in her first-ever 6k, was the toughest "mudder" on the Pirates' women's team. Weather conditions deteriorated significantly following the men's 8k at the University of Incarnate Word Cross Country Invitational, turning the course into a muddy slip and slide for the women's race.
