LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -The second week of SCAC volleyball play saw eight teams on the schedule, highlighted by Austin College, Trinity, Colorado College, and St. Thomas posting weekend sweeps.

Austin College (2-2) even its record after a pair of 3-1 victories over Texas Lutheran. In Friday’s victory, after dropping their first game, the ‘Roos responded by winning the next three with scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 – picking up their first win of the regular season. Victoria Smith notched 11 kills, with Shelbi Cook and Olivia Linton each adding 10 in the victory. In Saturday’s win, Caitlin Mahoney and Olivia Linton each had 11 kills for the ‘Roos. Mari Parzak had 31 digs in the victory. Ali Horton led the ‘Roos with 18 assists with Brooklyn Tally chippingin 15. Texas Lutheran, which dropped to 0-4, was led by Hayden Smyers who had a gamehigh16 kills on Friday.

Trinity’s (4-0) sweep came Saturday, with a pair of 3-0 games over Schreiner. In the first match, Annie Rose Leggett and Avery Tuggle led the Tigers with nine kills each. Nadia Kern recorded 15 digs for the Tigers, with Leggett adding 14 and Tuggle finishing with 10 digs in the match. Marisa Amarino paced the Tigers with 20 assists while also adding five digs and a service ace. Trinity finished the double-header with a 25-14, 25-15 and 25-16 victory to earn the sweep. Leggett recorded 14 digs to lead the Tigers, adding six kills and a pair of aces, with Kern adding 13 digs and Tuggle finishing with 11 digs in the second victory. Schreiner (0-4) was led by Kayla Lofland, who had seven kills in each match.

Colorado College (4-0) had two 3-0 victories over Dallas on Saturday. In the first match, Allie Freeburg led the Tigers with nine kills and five blocks. Isabella Vasquez had eight kills with Georgia Mullins adding seven. Isabella Aragon-Menzel dished out 13 assists and recorded a match-high 15 digs. In the second match of the day the Tigers posted the 25-14, 25-20, 25-16 victory. Mullins led the way with seven kills on 10 attacks and three blocked shots. Vasquez added seven kills on 13 swings with Allie Freeburg adding five kills on 11 attempts. Dallas’ (0-2) Dayjah White had eight kills in the two matches, while Moriah Delgado led the Crusaders with 22 digs.

St. Thomas (4-0) had the final sweep on the weekend, posting 3-1 and 3-0 victories over Centenary on Sunday. The Celts opened the weekend dropping their first set, winning the next three 26-24, 25-18, and 25-21. Kaylyn Latin led the Celts defensively with 18 digs.Alyssa Ajlouny followed with 15 digs and five kills. St. Thomas finished the second match in three sets; 25-14, 25-10 and 25-11. Alaina Lanik had a game-high 13 kills, with Latin leading all players with 18 digs. Kelsie Walker dished out 19 assists and recorded 11 digs. Centenary (0-2) was paced by Caroline Richmond, who had 18 kills on the weekend, including 12 in the opening loss to St. Thomas.

The third week of SCAC Volleyball continues with eight teams on the schedule, highlighted by a match of unbeatens when Trinity travels to take on Colorado College.
