LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- All nine conference teams were in action this past week, including Dallas, Schreiner, Southwestern, St. Thomas and Trinity at the Texas Lutheran Division III Challenge on Saturday.
SCAC student-athletes picked up victories in nine individual events at the meet. Trinity's Cassandra Williams took top honors in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:26.83 and her teammate Rylie Edwards put in a gold medal performance in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 1:07.67. Schreiner's Sarah Endres placed first in the 5000 meter run in 20:16.50 and Trinity's Maia Dykstra was first in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 12:52.98. In field events, Makenna Bentley of Trinity took top honors in the high jump with a leap of 1.57 meters, and her teammate Emma Pool tied for first in the pole vault, clearing 3.18 meters. Jordyn White continued Trinity's run of gold medal performances, taking first in the long jump with a leap of 5.25 meters. TLU's Tia Hart took top honors in the shot put with a toss of 11.44 meters while Southwestern's Tiamara Hill-Johnson was tops in the discus with a throw of 42.06 meters.
In other performances, Trinity's Jordyn White finished sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.72 and her teammate Danya Selber was fifth in the 200 meters in 26.76. TLU's Jacqueline Mora finished runner-up in the 400 meter dash (1:02.30) and St. Thomas' Martina Caridad placed second in the 1500 meter run (5:15.43). Trinity's Avery Puig placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.75. The Trinity women posted second place finishes in both the 4x100 (50.18) and 4x400 (4:16.40) relays. In field events, Trinity's Selina Noe was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.22 meters. TLU's Dejah Carr was second in the hammer with a throw of 37.83 meters and her teammate Tia Hart was third in the javelin with a toss of 29.24 meters.
The Austin College women were at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational this weekend, where Aimee Landers-Wilburn set a new personal best in the 1500, coming in with a time of 5:12.36 - good for 10th place.
Jennae Mayberry had Centenary's top finish at the Dan Veach Invitational (hosted by Southern Arkansas University) on Saturday, placing eighth in the women's 100 meters with a time of 13.69.
The Colorado College women competed for the second consecutive weekend in Pueblo, Colo., this time at the CSU-Pueblo Spank Blasing Meet. April Kwan posted the Tigers' best individual result, placing ninth in the high jump by clearing 5'1".
All but one program is taking off next week with the Trinity women competing at the Angelo State Relays on Thursday and Friday.
