LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior track athlete Monique Anderson and sophomore field athlete Brittany Bowers of Texas Lutheran University have been named SCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend.
SCAC TRACK ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK
Events through Sunday, April 13th
MONIQUE ANDERSON OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, April 13th.
Anderson ran her top 100 and 200-meter times of the season at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday, but only the 200 time will count for NCAA qualification purposes due to the stronger-than-allowed tailwind in the 100.
Anderson was the top collegiate finisher in the 100. Her time of 11.77 seconds was second only to an unattached runner. The wind in the 100 was a +4.5.
Anderson's time in the 200, a finish of 24.45, is a new personal record for the senior. The wind in the 200 was a legal reading of +2.4. Anderson's 200 time was the second-best among all collegiate runners at the meet.
