MEG WELTON OF SEWANEE – THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH, a senior midfielder from Germantown, Tenn., has been selected the SCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, February 20 through Sunday, February 26.

Welton continues her outstanding senior campaign with three goals and an assist against Carthage, Sunday. Overall, the Tiger attacker has a team-high 14 goals and 16 points, this season. Additionally, Welton added both game-winning goals last week, while tallying the assist on Ellie Murphy’s game-winner against Carthage. In arguably her best game of the season against Guilford, Feb., 19, Welton rallied the Tigers from an 8-4 deficit with four straight second half goals. Later in the game, Welton was at it again, when she added the game-winner with 2:54 left. In addition to her goals, Welton has grabbed 12 draw controls, including five critical ones Sunday, and five ground balls. Welton has scored no less than three goals in any game this season, while putting an average of 85.6 percent of her attempts on goal.
