COGHLAN OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman
second baseman from Marshall, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played through
Sunday, February 22nd.
Coghlan led the Centenary softball team to a
1-1 record this past weekend in a doubleheader against Southwestern
Assemblies of God.
Coghlan went 4-for-6 (.667) from the plate with a homerun and RBI to go along with three runs scored and a stolen base.
In the first game, Coghlan was 2-for-3 at the plate including her homerun, the first of her career. She followed that up with another 2-for-3 day including two runs scoring in a 9-0 victory in game two.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore
outfielder Avery Finch of Dallas posted a 4-for-6
effort and slashed a .667 in a doubleheader versus Millsaps on
Saturday. She increased her lead on the team in hits to 12. Junior third baseman Heather
Hummel of Texas Lutheran led TLU to a doubleheader
sweep of Concordia Texas by going 3-for-6 with four RBI. She
doubled and tripled and scored twice in the 16-0 opening-game win
over the Tornados. Schreiner, Southwestern, and Trinity did not play.
Austin
College did not nominate anyone.
