JOHNNY LAWSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Players-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 20th through Sunday, October 26th.
Lawson led second-ranked Tigers to a pair
of SCAC victories at home over the weekend, defeating both Austin
College and the University of Dallas.
Lawson tallied three goals in the two games,
increasing his team lead for the season. He nabbed a pair of goals
in each half of Friday's win over Austin, including the
game-winning goal that marked the only score of the first
period. Lawson's goal against Dallas put
the Tigers up 2-0 after a little more than 15 minutes of action to
pace the team to the win.
For the season, Lawson has scored 14
total goals and three game-winners for the Tigers. He is also tied
for second on the team with seven assists, combining for a
team-high 35 points.

Senior
forward Stuart Beezley of Colorado
College scored once and set up an insurance goal
midway through the second half to power Colorado College to a 2-0
victory over Schreiner on Friday. Freshman midfielder Andres
Carreno-Mendez of Southwestern scored the first
goal in each of the matches this weekend. His was the game winner
against Dallas, and he put the Pirates ahead against Austin College
in the 2-1 victory. Austin
College, Centenary, Dallas, Schreiner,
and Texas
Lutheran did not nominate anyone.
