Lindsay Martin, Trinity University, Women's Diving

LINDSAY MARTIN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending February 21, 2010.

Martin, a senior from Longview, Texas, is a two-time diving all-American for the Tigers and has been equally dynamic with her charitable contributions both in the San Antonio community and abroad.

While at Trinity, Martin has worked with a microfinance nonprofit in the company's marketing department - attempting to get more funds for loans to small business owners, which in turn, helps spur economic growth.

She has also done mentor with the SAMM shelter and also worked with the local food bank. Martin has worked with RAMP - an organization who builds ramps on houses for disabled people who cannot afford it.

Martin has also volunteered at Heroes for Children - a nonprofit for children with cancer) and has assisted locally with Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald house.

During a recent summer, Martin lived in Bolivia and worked with the International Orphanage Union.
