LEAH WESSLER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Ashland, Oregon, has been named the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, October 9th.
Wessler placed 18th in a field of over 160 runners composed of top NCAA Division II schools at the Fort Hays State Open where CC was the only NCAA Division III school competing.
Wessler ran a person best of 17:39, breaking her previous best of 18:27, and posting the top 5K time in the SCAC this season. She also lead the team to a fifth-place finish at this meet out of 18+ teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Brianna Ratliff of Trinity University led the Tigers' at the UIW Invitational last weekend, finishing 13th among 52 participants across all Divisions. In her first career 6K race, Ratliff was first among Division III runners, clocking in at 24:23.4.
