MIA MINEGHINO
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defensive
specialist from Lake Forest, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 15 through Sunday, October 21.
Mineghino led Trinity to four wins at the SCAC
Divisional over the weekend, earning the #2 seed in the SCAC
Tournament.
Mineghino recorded a team-high 56 digs over the four matches this weekend, averaging 4.00 digs/set for the Tigers. She also recorded four service aces in her 14 sets played.
Against 22nd-ranked Southwestern, Mineghino
recorded a season-high 20 digs to lead the Tigers to the 3-0
victory. In the tournament finale, she bested that mark with
a team-leading 23 digs to beat Austin College 3-2.
For the season, Mineghino is averaging 2.38 digs/set, and is third on the team with a total of 212 digs.
