  • SCAC announces Spring 2009 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll

    SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,029 student-athletes to the 2009 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 948 student-athletes.

    PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Southwestern University women's golf team closed out the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships in Port St. Lucie, Florida with solid performances and ended in fourth place overall, just one shot from third place. DePauw University finished tied for 11th.

LUCIE, Fla. - After the third day of competition from the NCAA Golf Tournament the SCAC was well represented with Southwestern in fourth place and DePauw University sitting at a tie for 13th. Individually Centre's Emily Bachert sits third while Rhodes' Stephanie Mingos stands at a tie for 13th.

    CORAL SPRINGS, Florida – The National Golf Coaches Association today announced the 2008-09 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women’s Collegiate Golf. The SCAC had four student-athletes recognized as All-American, including Centre College's Emily Bachert who was named NGCA Division III Freshman of the Year.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Southwestern University, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2009 Division III Women's Golf Championship. DePauw University, which finished second at the conference championship, earned an at-large berth in the tournament.

With only men's and women's golf to be decided, DePauw University turned a 10-point deficit to Trinity University to a 10-point victory and the Tigers from Indiana clinched their fourth consecutive SCAC President's Trophy.
