MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Luke Wagner has been named Rhodes Head Softball Coach. Most recently, Luke served as an assistant coach at Holy Cross, a highly selective academic school which competes at the Division I level in the Patriot league.

"I'm very excited about this opportunity at Rhodes," said Coach Wagner. "With the players we have returning, my goal is to help our team take the next step and earn a SCAC title."

Wagner is a 2003 graduate of Wittenberg University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. A native of Sidney, Ohio, near Dayton, Luke was a four year letter winner and played 3rd base for the Tigers. Upon graduating from Wittenberg, he served as a teacher and softball coach at Gibbs High School in Sarasota, FL.

"Luke's undergraduate experience at Wittenberg and his coaching stint at Holy Cross make him a great fit for our program at Rhodes," said Mike Clary, Rhodes Director of Athletics. "His understanding and support of the student-athlete model and his passion for softball were evident when he went through our interview process."
