Trinity Men Second, Colorado College Seventh, Southwestern 18th at NCAA Cross Country Regionals

HAMPTON, Ga. - Led by senior Sal Perdomo's 10th place finish, Trinity University placed second at the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country South/Southeast Regional at the Nash Battlefield Farm this morning. Colorado College's Nick Hall finished in 14th place to pace the Tigers to a seventh place team finish at the West Regional. South/Southeast Regional Complete Results

Perdomo, who finshed sixth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship, was one of four Trinity runners who earned All-Regional honors. Joining Perdomo on the All-Regional team were teammates Pancho Escobedo (12th), Rob Edmonds (13th) and Taylor Piske (16th). Gerardo Hernandez just missed All-Regional laurels as he finished in 36th place.

With the second place team finish, the Tigers earned an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. next Saturday.

Southwestern University finished in 18th place was led by Alex Medrano. Medrano finished in 28:56.02 and was good enough for 93rd out of 160 runners. Teammates Thomas Bobbitt (29:13.69) and Stephen Fuentes (29:15.98) also led the Pirate effort.

The University of Dallas and Centenary College did not compete in the regional competition.

SALEM Ore. - Behind SCAC champion Nick Hall's 14th place finish, Colorado College finished in seventh place (24:58.55) at the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country West Regional, hosted by Willamette University. West Regional Complete Results

Hall earned All-Regional status by finishing in the top-35 finishers. Teammates Graham Frank (25:33.44 - 27th) and Max Marinelli (25:38.67 - 29th) also earned All-Region laurels. Also finishing for the Tiger was Will Richmond (26:32.14), Andrew Vierra (26:47.65), Jacob Rothman (26:58.50) and Weston Sandfort (27:03.12).

Colorado College was the only SCAC school that competed in the West Regional.
