ANDREA CODISPOTI OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Rockville Centre, N.Y., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, September 17th to Sunday, September 23rd.
Codispoti led the Tigers to a pair of home wins in SCAC play, defeating Colorado College and Johnson & Wales. Codispoti finished the weekend with three goals and an assist in the two games. In an early-season showdown against Colorado College, Codispoti assisted on the eventual game-winner with less than 30 minutes to play. Colorado scored a pair of goals to cut Trinity’s lead to 3-2 with less than 10 minutes left, but Codispoti ended the threat with a pair of scores in the 83rd and 87th minutes. He also scored a goal in the 47th minute of Sunday’s win over Johnson & Wales.
For the season, Codispoti is tied for the team lead with three assists and is now tied for second among Tiger players with four goals scored.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder Skyler Stark-Ragsdale of Colorado College scored three of the Tigers’ five goals over the weekend leading to a 1-1 record in SCAC play. Stark-Ragsdale scored twice in the loss to Trinity and provided the game-winner in the 3-0 victory against Schreiner. Freshman midfielder Nicolas Medina of Texas Lutheran scored once and added an assist to lift the Bulldogs over Centenary last weekend, improving TLU to 3-2 in SCAC play.
