STERLING HOLMES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior guard from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Monday, January 4th through Sunday, January 10th.

Holmes averaged 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game while shooting 55.2 percent from the field, 62.5 percent from the three-point line, and 87.5 percent from the foul line. In the one-point win over Dallas, he scored 21 points grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists. In the three-point win over Austin, Holmes scored 23 points, collected seven rebounds and delivered nine assists. Holmes also had four steals overall (three in the Dallas win). He played a total of 70 minutes and had just two turnovers. His assist-to-turnover ratio was 7-to-1 (14 assists to 2 turnovers).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Alan Sullivan of Austin College put up a career-best 36 points in a narrow loss at Texas Lutheran and averaging 23.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2% from the field and 42.9% from three point range in two games. Freshman forward Isaiah Specks of Trinity averaged 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest for the weekend, as well as hitting 8-12 (66.7%) from the field and 4-7 (57.1%) from three-point range. Senior forward James Lonergan of Colorado College led CC with a game-high seven rebounds and a team-high five assists. Junior forward Zachary Whitlock of Southwestern posted 15 points per game while shooting an astonishing 70.6% from the floor and 85.7% from three point range as the Pirates went 2-0 in SCAC play. Junior forward Tom Kaiser of the University of Dallas combined for 28 rebounds and broke a career-high 16 blocks with two in Friday's game at Texas Lutheran University. Sophomore guard Travion Kirkendoll of Centenary College recorded a career high in rebounds Sunday to record a double-double against Trinity.
