RYAN OGDEN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from Bellaire, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Monday, November 30th through Sunday, December 7th.
Ogden was unstoppable against Concordia, shooting a blistering 85.7% from the floor and 100% from three point range. He led the team with 39 points in 39 minutes with eight rebounds, five assists and one steal.
Ogden is currently fourth in the SCAC in points per game with 18.7 and second in rebounds per game with 9.7. He also leads the Pirates in both categories as well as blocks.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward James Sapp of Centenary College recorded his second-straight double-double and his third of the season by leading a quintet of Gents who reached double-digit scoring in an 82-74 road win against Millsaps. Junior guard Brian Baehl of Austin College recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and added three assists and a block in the only game of the week for the 'Roos. Junior forward Tom Kaiser of the University of Dallas boasted a huge second half to help propel the Crusaders to a home-opener victory versus Hendrix on Sunday. Junior forward Zach Behr of Texas Lutheran University hit a pair of three-pointers and scored 10 points in the Bulldogs' 23-10 run at the start of the second period that stretched TLU's lead from three to 16 on the road against Mary Hardin-Baylor. Junior forward AJ Pulliam of Trinity University put up 23 points and was 3-4 from beyond the arc in Trinity's 55-71 loss to Texas-Dallas on Tuesday.
