PATTY COWLEY
OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior goalkeeper from
Louisville, Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September
26 through Sunday, October 2.
Cowley tallied 23 saves over the weekend as the Colonels
posted a perfect 2-0 record. Cowley recorded 12
saves in a 2-1 win over Rhodes on Friday night snapping the Lynx 13
game conference winning streak dating back to 2009.
Cowley came back Sunday to make 11 saves in a
4-1 win against Hendrix to ensure the Colonels a 3-0 start in
conference play.
On the year Cowley leads the SCAC with 57 saves and has posted two shutouts.
