CHARLES CLARK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Stillwater, Okla. has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performances at the Tiger Invitational.
Clark broke his own SCAC Open record in the 100 backstroke with his time of 49.8 seconds. This is the fastest time in Division III and also earned him an NCAA "B" cut mark.
In addition to winning the 200 backstroke and leading Trinity to a win in the 200 medley relay, Clark also finished as the runner-up in the 100 back and as part of the 400 free relay, and was third as the leadoff leg in the 200 free relay and the 400 medley relay as well.
As part of the winning 200 medley relay team, Clark's leadoff 22.96 in the 50 back places him fifth in the country for that time. With a time of 46.44 seconds as the leadoff leg in the 400 free relay, Clark is also in the top 20 in Division III in that distance as well.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Tyler Brown of Austin College swam the breaststroke leg on the winning 200 medley relay team and had first place finishes in the 200 (1:50.01) and 500 (5:05.89) for Austin College in a double dual meet against Hendrix and the University of Ozarks.
