JOEL FRYKHOLM OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Boulder, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches beginning September 5th.
Frykholm recorded the first multiple-goal game of his career, scoring twice in Sunday’s 4-0 win at Chapman University. He scored in the 30th minute after winning the ball inside the box and struck again in the 79th minute off of an assist from Ben Hietala.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior forward Thomas Quick of Austin College helped the 'Roos get off to a strong start in conference play, tallying the game-winner in a 2-0 victory on the road at Centenary. Sophomore defender Eduardo Lopez-Rivera of Texas Lutheran University scored a goal in the Bulldogs' 2-1 road loss at Concordia Texas. Lopez-Rivera's goal came on his only shot of the match. Junior forward Austin Michaelis of Trinity University scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute of a 2-1 win over Texas-Dallas on Saturday evening, vaulting the Tigers to a 4-0-0 start to the season.
