PHILLIP LE OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a sophomore from Frisco, Tx., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 19th through Sunday, September 25th.
Le had a huge week for Austin College, scoring 5 goals in three games, including a game-winner in AC's double overtime 3-2 win against Schreiner.
Le scored 2 goals against UC Santa Cruz, one goal against No. 1 ranked Trinity, and two goals against the Mountaineers to lead the SCAC with 9 goals so far this season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward David Ching of Texas Lutheran University scored the Bulldogs' first goal of the match to start a rally on the road against University of Dallas. Ching collected 9 total shots with 2 shots on goal in the 4-2 road defeat. Senior forward Caden Mackenzie of Colorado College factored in both of CC's game game-winning goals last week, providing the assist in the win against Texas Lutheran and the game-winning goal against Southwestern. Junior midfielder Ian Morris of Trinity University led Trinity to three SCAC wins over the weekend, including a pair of one-goal road wins at Austin College and Centenary. Morris provided a dramatic 103rd minute game-winning goal to ensure the Tiger's 2-1 victory over Centenary. Junior defender Jake Schnell of the University of Dallas recorded the first collegiate goals of his career, including the game winner against Texas Lutheran University on Sunday. Schnell finished with 3 shots in the match and drew a critical foul that led to the Crusaders to earn a penalty kick that secured the two-goal victory. Sophomore forward Jake Swonke of Southwestern University scored the game-winning goal in an overtime win against the University of Dallas to move SU to 4-0 in the SCAC.
