JACOB HUDSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, October 20.
Hudson earned the honor for the first time after taking third place at the Alamo City Classic this week. He helped the 18th-ranked Tigers to a second place finish in their own event.
Hudson shot a 141 (-1) overall, posting a low round of 70 Tuesday. He was one-under on par-3s over the two day tournament, as well as being two-under on par-4s. He also tied for the lowest average score (3.91) in the tournament on par-4s.
In the 36-hole event, Hudson posted six birdies and 25 pars.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Phillip Stewart of Schreiner University led the Mountaineers in the Alamo City Classic, posting a two-round score of 143 (+1) for fifth place overall. Centenary College, University of Dallas, Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University did not nominate.
