MARK TINDALL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior right-hander from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 18 through Sunday, March 24.
Tindall pitched in two of top-ranked Trinity’s four games last week as the Tigers went 2-2 overall against NAIA Our Lady of the Lake and No. 8 Texas Lutheran. In the 5-4 victory over OLLU on Tuesday, Tindall pitched 0.2 innings of relief. The junior then came back to start the opening game of a three-game series with TLU allowing just three runs on five hits over 6.1 innings of action, and striking out seven batters while picking up against the Bulldogs.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Southwestern junior RHP Colton Hunter recorded eight strike outs while walking four batters and allowing three earned run in the Pirates 14-3 win over Austin College on Saturday. Sophomore right-hander Connor Cudd of Centenary earned a pair of wins over Dallas, tallying three strikeouts and allowing no earned runs through a combined 4.2 innings of work. Freshman lefty Matthew Hickey made three appearances last week for Texas Lutheran, earning the win against Mary Hardin-Baylor, putting together four strikeouts while allowing two walks and no earned runs through 5.2 innings.
